Tickets are still available for the North Carolina Baseball Museum benefit roast of Wilson County Schools athletic director Jimmy Tillman on Tuesday, Oct. 29.
Tickets for the event in the banquet room of Wedgewood Public Golf Course clubhouse room are $20 per person or $140 for a table of eight and can be purchased at Dick’s Hot Dog Stand, EB Sports, Wedgewood, North Carolina Baseball Museum or from Wilson Hot Stove members. The meal will be catered by Parker’s Barbecue.
The festivities will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a social followed by the roast at 6:30 p.m.
Tillman was the head football coach at Lucama High and, after a year on the staff at Beddingfield High in its first year, moved to SouthWest Edgecombe for 11 years, serving at head football coach and athletic director.
Tillman returned to Wilson in 1990, first as an assistant principal at Fike High four years. He was hired as principal at Darden-Vick Middle, where he spent a year, before going back to Fike as principal for eight years. He has been Wilson County AD since 2007.
All proceeds from the roast will go towards the N.C. Baseball Museum.
