ROCKY MOUNT — A 47-year-old Nash County man faces more than a dozen child pornography charges following a regional investigation, authorities announced Friday.

Bruce Jachmann of the 2900 block of Hunter Hill Road northwest of Rocky Mount was arrested Wednesday and his cellphone and laptop computer were seized as evidence in the case following an interview, according to Chief Deputy Brandon Medina of the Nash County Sheriff’s Office.

Jachmann admitted to possessing child porn, Medina said.

He faces 15 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and was booked into the Nash County Detention Center in Nashville under a $400,000 secured bond.

Members of the N.C. Northeast Regional Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force identified Jachmann as a suspect in the case and investigated his conduct, Medina said. The task force is a partnership between federal, state and local law enforcement agencies whose members include the State Bureau of Investigation, sheriff’s deputies from Nash and Pitt counties and the Winterville Police Department.
