FAYETTEVILLE — History wasn’t made by just one Wilson Preparatory Academy varsity basketball team Tuesday night.

While the boys team had its way with Reidsville Community Baptist, the Lady Tigers secured the first playoff victory in its varsity history Tuesday night on the road with a 63-27 win over Fayetteville Alpha Academy.

Sophomore Trinity Mobley led the way with 37 points for the Lady Tigers, seeded No. 5 in the Carolina’s Athletic Association for Schools of Choice Division I playoffs. They will next play Durham Mount Zion Christian, the No. 1 seed, on Thursday. Alpha Academy entered as the No. 4 seed.

Junior Jadore Lucas-Barnes had a double-double of 12 points and 10 points while junior Haley Waddell finished one point shy of a double-double with nine points and 14 rebounds. Tyana Watkins, a junior, also had nine points.
