Behind 12 points from Isaiah Buck and 10 from Varsheed Watson, the Wilson Prep boys basketball team coasted to a 61-20 defeat of visiting Raleigh Home School on Friday.

Jamarion Davis and Micah Buck each added eight points for the Tigers, who saw all 11 players score.

WPA girls fall at Thales

APEX — Wilson Prep came up on the short end of a 12-11 girls basketball result Friday against host Thales Academy.

Niiyana Edwards’ four points led the Lady Tigers.

Lady Chargers edge Faith 20-18

The Wilson Christian girls basketball team held Goldsboro Faith Christian without a second quarter field goal Friday afternoon and held off a late run for a 20-18 victory.

Holland Miller had seven points for the Lady Chargers (10-7). Gracie Farmer added five.

CCS falls to Oakwood

The Community Christian girls basketball team lost 24-17 loss Oakwood of Greenville in the Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf gym Thursday.

Abigail Jackson led the Lady Cyclones wilth seven points.

Toisnot stops Forest Hills 51-27

Jahmar Jones had 16 points and Nick Edwards added 11 to lift the Toisnot boys basketball team to a 51-27 victory over host Forest Hills on Thursday afternoon.

Toisnot, which won its fifth straight game, improved to 7-1. Jones handed out four assists. El Avent had eight points and pulled down nine rebounds. Forest Hills dropped to 3-4 with the loss.

Cougars conquer Wildcats 34-20

Behind the 13 points of Cris Atkinson and eight more from Micah Sherrod, the Speight boys basketball team pulled off a 34-20 win over visiting Springfield on Thursday.

Speight visits Elm City on Wednesday.
