Host Wilson Christian rallied from an eight-point deficit after three quarters to pull out a 28-27 girls basketball win over Faith Christian of Goldsboro on Friday.

Gracie Farmer scored 11 points to pace the Lady Chargers while Chloe Villaverde added seven points and Holland Miller had six. 

Wilson Prep boys advance to title game

DURHAM — Wilson Prep boys basketball team advanced to the Carolina Athletic Association for Schools of Choice Triangle Conference tournament championship game after defeating host Mount Zion Christian Academy, 40-26, Thursday night.

Eighth-grader Micah Buck led the way for the Tigers (22-0) with 14 points. Eighth-grader Troi Shade also chipped in seven points. 

The Tigers will go for the undefeated season Saturday against Thales-Rolesville at 5 p.m.

Green keys Chargers’ OT win

David Green fired in 18 points and grabbed six rebounds as the host Wilson Christian boys basketball team needed overtime to knock off Our Lady of Perpetual Help 43-40 on Friday.

Carter Zander added seven points for the Chargers, who got a free throw by Matthew Davis late in regulation to send the game in OT.

Wilson Christian (7-10) will host Bethel Christian in Tuesday’s final game of the season.
