SPRING HOPE — Authorities say the only thing a flasher didn’t show was his face.

Nash County sheriff’s deputies arrested 52-year-old Bobby Lee Marshall of Louisburg after investigating five reports of a man standing on the U.S. 64 shoulder “completely nude with the exception of wearing a mask,” according to Capt. Eddie Moore.

On five occasions from May 5-13, Moore said the masked man stood near mile marker 448 and exposed himself to passing motorists. Deputies responded to the reports from concerned drivers, but each time, the flasher fled before they arrived.

“Through diligent investigative efforts,” Moore said in a news release, “a suspect was identified.”

Marshall, of E.F. Cottrell Road south of Louisburg in rural Franklin County, was questioned at the sheriff’s office on Tuesday and charged with five counts of misdemeanor indecent exposure.

Online records indicate Marshall has no history of criminal convictions in North Carolina and no other pending charges.

He was booked into the Nash County Detention Center in Nashville under a $1,250 secured bond.
