The Wilson Education Partnership will hold the inaugural “Laughter and Lunch” fundraiser on Wednesday from noon until 1:30 p.m. at Wilson Country Club.
According to WEP executive director Robin Williams, the event is to bring people together to share awareness about what WEP does.
Wilson native Vernon Mason will be the featured speaker.
“He speaks all over the country. He owns several day cares, and he has written a book. He just has a lot of life experiences and a lot of stories from Wilson, how he has overcome losing a business, things that he learned growing up from his parents, work ethic, how millennials think,” Williams said.
“We are going to laugh and give out door prizes,” Williams said.
Tickets are $35 and that include lunch.
The proceeds will go to support WEP teacher and student programs in the schools.
Tickets can be purchased at Blissful Boutique and The Nook.
