After being scored upon first, the host Toisnot softball team rolled to an 18-2 triumph against South Edgecombe on Thursday.

Winning pitcher Jada Lamm rapped three hits. In the circle, Lamm struck out eight. Shortstop Madison Butts also hit safely for the Lady Hawks.

Toisnot plays host to Forest Hills on Monday.

GIRLS SOCCER

Wilson Christian dealt 4-1 defeat

RALEIGH — The visiting Wilson Christian Academy girls soccer team yielded all four goals in the first half in dropping a 4-1 decision to Friendship Christian on Thursday.

The Lady Chargers not only played better in the second half but averted a shutout with a goal from Reagan Barnes early in the final half.

With a 3-5 record, Wilson Christian visits New Life Storm on Tuesday.

BASEBALL

Elm City conquers South Edgecombe 13-4

PINETOPS — Bryce Batten collected two hits and drew a pair of walks Wednesday in helping the Elm City baseball team to a 13-4 win at South Edgecombe.

Ethan Williams earned the win on the mound for the Vikings. J.D. Graziani, who was 2 for 3, pitched an inning of relief.

Elm City remained atop the Tricounties Athletic Conference with the win, remaining unbeaten through four games.
