For a monthly service project, American Heritage Girls and Trail Life USA Troop NC-0834 built bunk beds at Sleep in Heavenly Peace.

The troop was involved with cutting boards to size, sanding, scoring end pieces, drilling pilot holes, assembling headboards and branding each headboard with the Sleep in Heavenly Peace logo.

Within a few hours, the troop had built five bunk beds that will be assembled upon delivery in individual homes, giving 10 kids a comfortable bed.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a nationwide nonprofit organization that provides beds to children in need. Each recipient gets a newly constructed bunk bed as well as new mattresses, linens and pillows. The Rocky Mount chapter serves Nash, Edgecombe and Wilson counties.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace relies on donations from local businesses and individuals for supplies and on volunteer groups and individuals for labor.
