LILLINGTON — Jo Linda S. Mainor died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018 at Rex Hospital with her loving husband and son at her bedside. She was born in Wilson County on May 8, 1943 to the late Joseph Arnold and Lois Warren Scott, Jo Linda grew up in Wilson and then traveled the world for many years as a military wife. She lived in several states as well as overseas. She was known for her love of her family, crafting, making beautiful cakes and travel, especially to the beach. Her laugh was contagious and she will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Tina Elizabeth Neal; and a sister, Jean Scott Blackman.

She is survived by her loving husband, Richard “Dick” Mainor of the home; and her son, Gary Leroy “Chip” Neal Jr. of Lillington; her grandchildren, Bryan Lee Neal, Daniel Thomas Neal, Joseph Keith Neal and Kristina Joy Neal, all living out of state; her sister, Diana S. Greenhaw (Clint) of Midwest City, Oklahoma; her brother, Joseph Harold Scott (Joyce) of Mocksville; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of Jo Linda’s life will be held at a later date at her favorite spot at the beach per her request.
