Mrs. Irene Robinson Pitt, 77, of 4315 Jones Road, Wilson, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018 at the Brian Center Health and Rehab, Wilson. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Tabernacle Temple of Jesus Christ, 1601 Lane St. Extension, Wilson. Bishop Henry Cox will officiate and burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street Extension.
A public visitation will be held 4 - 7 p.m. Wednesday with the family receiving friends for an inspirational wake 6 - 7 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, Wilson. At other times, the family will be receiving friends at the residence where they will also assemble at noon Thursday in preparation for the funeral procession.
Mrs. Pitt leaves cherished memories to her husband, Eddie Thomas Pitt of the home; one son, Dwayne Pitt of Durham; one daughter, Lyderia Barnes of the home; one grandson, Dwaynté Carmon of Wilson; two sisters, Mae Thompson of New York and Nellie Robinson Pitt (Crawford) of Wilson; two brothers, Bishop Elmer Robinson (Rachel) and Harvey Robinson, both of Elm City; one aunt, Nancy Elliott of Wilson; two sisters-in-law, Delois Pitt of Elm Cityand Frances Pitt of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; one brother-in-law, Celas Pitt (Glanda) of Elm City; her caregivers, Katrew Anderson, Myra Oliver, as well as her loving and dedicated sister, Nellie R. Pitt; two goddaughters, Cleora Ward of Stantonsburg and Angelica Bridgers of Wilson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
