DAHLONEGA, Ga. — The three-game winning streak to start the season ended with a thud Friday for the Barton College women’s basketball team.
The Lady Bulldogs managed to make just 20.3 percent (12 of 59) of their field-goal attempts in a 70-40 loss to Georgia College in the first game of the North Georgia Classic.
Barton trailed 25-14 at halftime as the Lady Bulldogs connected on just 5-of-30 first-half shots for 16.7-percent accuracy. Georgia College (1-2) wasn’t much better, making 29 percent in the first half but turned that around to 58.6 percent in its 45-point second half.
No Lady Bulldog reached double figures in scoring with junior Dinah Neal and redshirt senior Alex Kimble leading the team with seven points. Alyah McGriff’s 21 points led Georgia College.
The Lady Bulldogs are back in action Saturday in the final day of the Classic, taking on host North Georgia at 4 p.m.
