OTHER INTERESTING FACTS: Some of my fondest childhood memories took place in my mother’s classroom, where I spent many hours before and after school. I have always been proud to be the daughter of a teacher, and my mother influenced me the most in deciding my career path. She taught for 30 years, and I witnessed the many relationships she formed with her students and their families. When I think back to my teachers who inspired me, I always remember the ones who took the time to get to know me. They were the ones who made a difference in my life.
WHY I TEACH: I teach because I can’t imagine doing anything else. It’s what I am meant to do. I get to be a teacher and facilitator of academic and spiritual learning, all the while learning myself. My goal each year is to challenge and inspire my students in a safe and loving environment. Teachers chart the course of lifelong learning for their students, and I feel blessed to be given that opportunity.
