Andrew Huston and Salvador Guzman each scored a pair of goals to lead the host Community Christian varsity boys soccer team to a 4-1 nonconference victory over Lee Christian on Monday.
Guzman gave the Cyclones the lead with an unassisted goal in the first half and then fed Huston, who converted for a 2-1 lead. Huston then made it 3-1 with a solo strike in the second half while Guzman finished a pass from Bryson Scott to complete the scoring.
Community Christian, now 3-6-1 overall, outshot Lee Christian 18-10 as Cyclones goalkeeper Seth Huston came up with six saves. CCS head coach Monica Mills credited senior sweeper Griffin Dunlap as the defensive leader for the match.
CCS will play Tuesday at Faith Christian in Rocky Mount in a 1-A/2-A Coastal Independents Conference game, weather permitting.
