May 10 in North Carolina is Confederate Memorial Day. This day is to mark and honor those who answered the call of the state and left their everyday lives to go and defend their homes from an invader.
Today, in the politically correct world, you will receive sermons from a presentist view on how our Confederate veterans should have acted, and they are insulted for their views of the time though this does not change the premise named above that they answered the call to serve their state and protect their homes. Those who made this sacrifice should be honored as the veterans they are, and it should be noted that a country that does not defend its veterans will one day find itself at the mercy of its enemies.
Remember our North Carolina Confederate veterans on May 10.
