The Wilson County Senior Activity Center is partnering with Walmart for the sixth annual Santa for Seniors program.

Santa for Seniors provides gifts to seniors in need during the holiday season.

The program provides a chance to give back and brighten an older person’s holiday, said Sandra Carter, senior center director.

If you want to help out, drop by the Wilson County Senior Activity Center at 1808 Goldsboro St. SW or Walmart on Forest Hills Road and pick out an ornament on the tree. The tree at Walmart is located by the entrance closest to the pharmacy. Pick out an ornament before Dec. 20.

Each ornament is labeled male or female and includes suggested gift items for a local senior citizen. Items requested are such things as bedroom slippers, cleaning supplies, personal hygiene products, coats, cologne, lotion and food, Carter said,.

Once you have purchased the gifts, place them in an unwrapped bag and take them to the senior center along with the ornament.

The Wilson County Sheriff’s Office will deliver the gifts on Dec. 22.
