Wilson-based Emco Wheaton Retail Corp. has named Heather K. Mallard as its chief operating officer and general counsel effective Aug. 1, the company announced last week.
Mallard previously served as senior vice president and general counsel of Concord Hospitality Enterprises in Raleigh and vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of Acorn Energy in Wilmington, Delaware.
She is a former partner at Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, a business law firm headquartered in Winston-Salem with 15 offices in the Carolinas, Virginia, Georgia, Maryland, Delaware, California and the District of Columbia.
Mallard earned a bachelor's degree in history and political science from Grove City College and received her law degree from Washington and Lee University.
Located in the Wilson Industrial Park, Emco designs, produces and sells equipment for the service station and groundwater management markets.
