Amanda Eve Thomas and Benjamin Scott Hawkins, both of Wilmington, were married Sept. 11 in a 5:30 p.m. ceremony in Wrightsville Beach. Pastor Jeff Nichols officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Gene and Diane Thomas of Wilson. She is the granddaughter of Coy and Eve Crosby of Wilson. She graduated from Fike High School and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a degree in information systems. She is employed in PPD (Pharmaceutical Products Development) as a senior feasibility and site liaison. The bride was presented by the Terpsichorean Club at the North Carolina Debutante Ball in 1999. Parents of the groom are Emile and Barbara Hawkins. He graduated from Nelson County High School and is employed as senior mortgage banker at Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group.

The bride was escorted by her father.

Brooke Tomlinson, daughter of the bride, was flower girl.

The couple will reside in Wilmington.
