Wilson County Ducks Unlimited’s popular Pittman, Pierce, Johnson Green Wing Fishing Event is Sunday, Sept. 23, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Pittman Farm.
Kids can learn how to fish in stocked ponds with their own rods, reels and tackle given out at the annual event, presented by Garris Evans Lumber.
The $10 admission fee buys kids an afternoon of fun and refreshments, including fishing, a BB range, bouncy houses, a K-9 demonstration, hay rides and hot dogs.
Chelsea Griffith, chairwoman of the event, said it has become almost like a fall festival.
She said the purpose of the day is to get kids involved in outdoor activities. Ducks Unlimited is a national nonprofit that works for the conservation of wetlands.
To reach the farm, turn onto Wiggins Mill Road off U.S. 301. Go about a mile. Look for signs on right.
