Today, Monday, Dec. 11, is the last day to register for the inaugural Hand In Mine Holiday Basketball Camp, set for Saturday, Dec. 16, at Greenfield School.
Proceeds from the camp will go to purchase toys and food for needy families in Wilson and surrounding communities.
The camp, for girls and boys in grades 9-12, will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Greenfield gym. The cost is $50 per participant and will include a camp T-shirt. Registration is limited to 50 total participants. You can register online at www.handinmine.net through Monday, Dec. 11.
The camp is being operated by Hand In Mine, Inc., A nonprofit organization created by former Greenfield and collegiate players Jeremy Jeffers and Darian Cahill. The camp will focus on basketball skills “to develop the ability of collaborating with others to enhance communication and teamwork skills and stress the importance of education.”
Special guest instructors will be seniors Coby White of Greenfield and Tayanna Jones of North Johnston.
