RALEIGH — A promising first quarter for the Wilson Christian varsity boys basketball sputtered into a 59-28 loss against the host New Life Storm homeschool team Friday night.

The Chargers, now 0-2, scored 14 points in the opening period and then just 14 points the rest of the way. Jimmy Forte and David Peele each netted 11 points for the Chargers, who will host Sanford Grace Christian on Tuesday.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

RALEIGH — A 50-47 loss Friday at New Life Storm homeschool team left the Wilson Christian varsity girls basketball team with its first defeat of the season.

The Lady Chargers, now 1-1, were led by junior McKenna Griffin with 17 points while sophomore Olivia Vick tossed in 11 points.

Wilson Christian will host Grace Christian of Sanford at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

RALEIGH — Wilson Christian came up short 26-18 in Friday’s girls basketball game against New Life Storm homeschool team.

Kayla Farmer had eight points to lead the Lady Chargers, now 0-2.

Wilson Christian will host Cape Fear Christian on Monday.

Chargers dealt 58-30 loss by New Life

RALEIGH — Wilson Christian suffered a 58-30 boys basketball loss to host New Life Storm homeschool team Friday.

Seth Thompson and Thomas Evans each scored nine points for the Chargers (0-2), who will welcome Grace Christian of Sanford on Tuesday.

Knights lose opener to Hawks

Host Greenfield tipped off its boys basketball season Thursday with a 55-39 loss to the Raleigh Hawks homeschool team.

The Knights got 12 points from Eli Ferrell while Benson Jones added eight points and seven assists.
