The Forest Hills boys basketball team concluded the regular season undefeated and as the Wilson County and Tricounties Conference South Division champion with a 61-40 victory against Darden on Tuesday.
The Bucks carry a 12-0 record into the Tricounties semifinals against visiting Rocky Mount Parker, the No. 2 seed from the North, on Monday.
Forest Hills was triggered by TyChaun Clay with 19 points, C.J. Joyner with 13 and Davon Jones with 11.
Darden’s top scorer was Xavier Honey with 14 points.
WCA Blue girls end season
The Wilson Christian Blue girls basketball team concluded its season Friday afternoon with a 33-24 loss to the Carolina Mustangs, a homeschool program from the Durham area.
Kate Hoskins led the Lady Chargers with 13 points, while Patsy Price added four.
Wilson Christian, which finished with a 4-10 record, will face the WCA girls Gold squad on Friday, Feb. 16 in an intersquad game.
Speight girls conquer West Edgecombe 39-20
ROCKY MOUNT — Ebony Huggins had a double-double of 10 points and 14 rebounds to help pace the Speight girls basketball team to a 39-20 win over West Edgecombe on Thursday afternoon.
Speight, which finished the regular season at 10-2, finished No. 2 in the Tricounties Conference South Division and will visit the North Division champion on Monday.
Daneesha Briggs led the way in scoring for the Lady Cougars, netting 16 points.
Cyclones end with victory
The ninth time was finally the charm for the Community Christian School boys basketball team Thursday afternoon.
Seth Huston and Bryce Pittman each tallied eight points to lead the Cyclones to a 22-19 win over host Eastern N.C. School for the Deaf inside Barney Williamson Gym.
The Cyclones, who concluded their season with the victory, finished with a 1-8 record.
Lady Bucks finish regular season unbeaten
The Forest Hills girls basketball team completed a 12-0 regular season Wednesday afternoon by defeating Darden 28-12.
Kaitlyn Adams led the Lady Bucks with 10 points as D’Miyah McGuire chipped in nine for the winners.
Darden ended its season at 3-9.
Forest Hills, champions of the Tricounties Athletic Conference South Division, opens the postseason Monday against the No. 2 seed from the North.
Lady Tigers fall in conference tourney opener
HOLLY SPRINGS — The Wilson Preparatory Academy girls basketball team fell in the opening round of the Carolina Athletic Association for Schools of Choice’s Capital City Conference tournament with a 32-14 loss to Southern Wake Academy on Tuesday.
Kaitlyn Bates led WPA with 10 points.
