MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Mario Feliciano homered and had three hits, driving in two, and Dylan File pitched six scoreless innings as the Carolina Mudcats beat the Myrtle Beach Pelicans 3-1 on Thursday.
File (1-3) picked up the win after he struck out five while allowing five hits as the Mudcats are a game back of first place in the Carolina League's Southern Division.
Carolina (12-9) got on the board first in the fourth inning when Feliciano and Rob Henry hit RBI singles.
After Carolina added a run in the sixth on a home run by Feliciano, the Pelicans cut into the deficit in the seventh inning when Kevonte Mitchell hit an RBI single, driving in Aramis Ademan.
Erling Moreno (1-3) went four innings, allowing two runs and three hits in the Carolina League game. He also struck out three and walked four.
Carolina took advantage of some erratic Myrtle Beach pitching, drawing a season-high eight walks in its victory.
The Pelicans fell to a Carolina League-worst 7-14.
