Fike’s Eaton takes 6th at 3-A states

WINSTON-SALEM — Fike High senior Chase Eaton took sixth place in the boys 55-meter hurdles Friday at the North Carolina High School Athletic Association 3-A indoor track championship meet at JDL Fast Track.

Eaton finished in 7.83 seconds, three-tenths of a second behind race winner Mekhi Wall of Greensboro Dudley.

Hunt senior Jada Carpenter tied for 19th place with two others in the girls high jump, clearing 4 feet, 10 inches.

C.B. Aycock junior Quevion Henderson was 13th in the boys high jump with a clearance of 5-10. Also competing for the Golden Falcons in the 55 dash were Matthew Hammond and Aaron Macias. Hammond also finished 15th in the 300 dash.

Aycock’s boys 4x200 relay finished 14th.

Weddington the boys team championship while Waxhaw Cuthbertson claimed the girls title.
