This weekend’s N.C. Whirligig Festival promises two days filled with music, food, shopping, games and more.

Here’s a list of some of the events and activities on Saturday and Sunday. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

217 Brew Works Beer Garden

All Day - Saturday & Sunday

217 Brew Works invites you to take a moment to relax and enjoy the newly created Whirligig brew in the outdoor beer garden hosted, located at the corner of Douglas and South streets. Purchase a yummy lunch or snack from a festival vendor and take advantage of the picnic tables provided for dining. Alcohol must remain within the garden perimeter.

Touch a Truck

All Day - Saturday & Sunday

Sponsored by the City of Wilson

Take a ride in a Wilson Energy bucket truck for a bird’s eye view of the whirligigs. Come on down to the corner of Douglas Street and South, near the newly opened Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park. Kids 3 years old and up can climb up into the truck, honk the horns and see the view from the driver’s seat.

Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park – Grand Opening

All Day- Saturday & Sunday

The Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park will have its grand opening on Thursday, Nov. 2 at 4 p.m. The festival has created a new expanded zone to stretch the activities from Nash Street all the way to the park. Follow Douglas Street and enjoy more activities as you make your way to the park.

American Ninja Warriors

All Day - Saturday & Sunday

Meet TV’s American Ninja Warriors at the Whirligig Warrior Course on Goldsboro Street, near City Hall. Watch these amazing ninjas show us how it’s done, maybe get an autograph and take a photo in the Wilson Medical Center ninja zone.

Whirligig Warrior Course

All Day - Saturday & Sunday

The Whirligig Warrior course is free and open to the public Saturday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and on Sunday, before and after the competition. The course will have about 20 different challenging elements, including many as seen on TV, such as the quad steps, cannon ball alley, salmon ladder, monkey bars and ending with the warp wall. Participants must be 18+ years old to take part in the Warrior course.

Meet to Compete - Whirligig Warrior Competition

Sunday, 1:30 – 3:30 pm

Sponsored by Wilson Medical Center

Registration is open online for 25 competitors to test their skills, agility and strength against the Whirligig Warrior Course. The entry fee is $25. All competitors will receive a Whirligig Warrior t-shirt and meet the American Ninja Warriors. The top three competitors will receive a unique Whirligig Warrior medallion.

Five Extreme Challenges

All Day - Saturday & Sunday

Sponsored by Manual Physical Therapy, Auto Body of Wilson, Wilson Energy and Wilson Community College

Challenge yourself against five different extreme inflatable activities.

1) Meltdown – Tarboro Street, Takes on six at a time with a fast sweeping arm. Can you keep your balance?

2) The Big Baller – Pine Street, It’s how all great WipeOut television episodes start. How far can you make it?

3) Lagoon of Doom – Douglas Street, Tackle the log roll against your best buddy. Who will go down first?

4) Crash Obstacle Course – Douglas Street, Don’t get lost in the maze as you race against time. Will you make it?

5) Giant Saber Tooth Tiger Slide – Douglas Street, So high in the sky that parents need a kid to go with them!
