As an elementary school educator in North Carolina and the president of the North Carolina Association of Educators, I visit classrooms and talk with educators every day about their concerns and what they believe our public schools need to be most successful.

As a former teacher, Rep. Jean Farmer-Butterfield also knows the challenges our public schools, students and educators face each day. She knows that 39th in the country in per-pupil spending in unacceptable and more than $9,000 behind the national average in teacher pay doesn’t make our state as competitive as it should be in attracting and retaining educators. She has a clear vision for education and has an outstanding voting record for public education, students and educators. She has been a leader in making sure our rural school districts are treated equitably and also have the technology and broadband access they need in this globally competitive economy.

Our public schools are in excellent hands with Rep. Jean Farmer-Butterfield, which is why the North Carolina Association of Educators highly recommends her to represent Wilson County.
