If you’re in the mood for some great food in a nice, family atmosphere, drive on over to Dixie Queen Seafood of Farmville. You won’t find anything fancy, and frills are kept at a minimum, but what you will find is a nice, friendly staff, great food and a down-to-earth atmosphere.
Dixie Queen Seafood of Farmville is managed and operated by husband and wife team Dana and David Hollingsworth. Their son, Jordan, also helps out at the restaurant part time.
There is a second Dixie Queen Seafood restaurant in Winterville. Both of the restaurants were originally started by George S. Hines and his wife, Joan T. Hines.
Dixie Queen Seafood of Farmville has a wide variety of items on their menu including steamed, grilled and fried seafood.
Don’t let the name fool you though. If seafood isn’t your thing, you can also choose from grilled ribeye steaks, grilled chicken, hamburger steak and even a nice selection of salads.
Dixie Queen Seafood of Farmville is one of the best kept secrets in eastern North Carolina, according to operator David Hollingsworth. The restaurant has prided itself on offering good, quality food at an affordable price.

Dixie Queen Seafood of Farmville is open Tuesday through Thursday from 4–8 p.m., Friday from 4–9 p.m. and Saturday from 4–8:30 p.m. The restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday.
