The Brand Performing Arts Center packed the house at the Boykin Center on Sunday for its annual performance of Dancing For A Cause, raising $31,863.50 for Southeastern Cancer Care.
The sold-out show, hosted by Hannah Woodall, featured the competitive company dancers who entertained the crowd with more than 25 group dance routines and more than 30 solo/duet performances.
The money was raised by the dancers and parents through ticket sales, silent auction, program ad sales, honorary ribbons sales, personal donations and a 50-50 raffle.
“BPAC proudly donates 100 percent of all proceeds to Southeastern Cancer Care,” said studio owner and lead instructor Barrett Wheeler Hildebrand.
In just four years, the company has donated more than $87,000, she said.
Guest speakers Brooke Fulford and Victoria Bailey spoke about the assistance these donations provide to patients and families who are working through the struggles of cancer treatment.
Hildebrand said she encourages her students to get involved in their community through acts of service and giving back.
