Cyclones defeated in 1st CPIC test

GOLDSBORO — The Community Christian School varsity baseball team christened its first season in the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association 1-A Coastal Plains Independents Conference with an 8-2 loss to host Wayne Country Day on Thursday.

The Cyclones were limited to four hits and a run in each of the fifth and seventh innings in dropping to 2-2 overall.

Thomas Lane led the Community Christian offense, rapping a double and single in three at-bats.

Starting Cyclones pitcher Drew Oliver took the loss, his first against one win.
