Police say a Wilson bicyclist has died after he was struck by a car Monday afternoon.
Officers responded to the 400 block of Pike Street shortly after 4 p.m. regarding a motor vehicle crash involving a bicyclist, according to Sgt. Steve Stroud.
When officers arrived, they found 67-year-old Alton F. Williams unresponsive. Williams, of Wilson, was taken to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville for treatment but later died as a result of his injuries, officials said.
Police said the driver of the car, 19-year-old Jailyn T. Ellis of Wilson, was not injured.
No charges have been filed.
The Wilson Police Department’s traffic unit is currently investigating the crash.
