Creators Syndicate has begun distributing a weekly political column written by Corey Friedman, editor of The Wilson Times and executive editor for Restoration NewsMedia.

The column will appear in The Wilson Times each Monday and will be made available to newspapers, magazines and online news outlets across the country. Founded in 1987, Hermosa Beach, California-based Creators is a publishing and syndication house offering comic strips, puzzles, editorial cartoons and columns. It’s the third-largest syndicate in the United States.

“We’re proud to see our editor’s work on the national stage through this partnership with Creators,” said Keven Zepezauer, publisher of The Wilson Times and president and CEO of Restoration NewsMedia. “Corey’s role at the paper and within our company will remain the same. His column will appear in more newspapers, and that’s a nice feather in our cap that underscores our commitment to recruit and retain talented journalists and publish thought-provoking commentary.”

Friedman’s column will explore solutions to political conflicts from an independent perspective. The signed column reflects his personal views and not those of The Wilson Times.

As an opinion journalist, Friedman won the 2019 Burl Osborne Award for Editorial Leadership, first place in the Inland Press Association’s Editorial Excellence Contest and numerous North Carolina Press Association awards for editorial and column writing.

The company also publishes The Courier-Times in Roxboro, The Wake Weekly in Wake Forest, the Johnstonian News in Smithfield, The Enterprise in Spring Hope, The Mount Olive Tribune and The Butner-Creedmoor News.
