Yard sale, breakfast fundraiser set today

ELM CITY — The Mount Zion Methodist Church women will have an indoor yard sale fundraiser from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 23. The Methodist men will have an all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast from 7-10 a.m. with coffee or juice for $7 per person. Children ages 6-10 years old eat for $3. The church is located at 5326 London Church Road.

Hospital fundraiser starts Monday

Wilson Medical Center’s Buy a Ticket fundraiser beginning Monday, March 25 will support its Relay for Life and Heart Walk campaigns. Raffle tickets will be sold for a chance to win items donated by local businesses and baskets donated by hospital departments.

The fundraiser will be held in the back of the hospital’s cafe court from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Monday, March 25; 7 - 9 a.m. and 3 - 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 26; 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 27; 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 5 - 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 28; and 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Friday, March 29.

Wilson Democratic Women to meet

The Democratic Women of Wilson County will meet at 6:45 p.m. Monday, March 25 in the Wilson County Public Library assembly room, 249 Nash St. Participants are invited to arrive early for refreshments.

Quarterly food distribution planned

The Opportunities Industrialization Center of Wilson will hold its quarterly food distribution from 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday, March 27 at 801 Reid St. E. Qualified applicants who have fixed incomes, are receiving public assistance and are Wilson County residents are invited to attend. Free health screenings will be available.

Rehab, nursing center plans job fair

Wilson Rehabilitation and Nursing Center will hold a hiring event for registered nurses and licensed practical nurses from 1-6 p.m. Wednesday, April 10.

Participants will have the opportunity to meet the administrator and director of nursing, interview and tour the facility. Registration is preferred, but walk-ins are welcome. To register, email stephanie.fox@lpnt.net.

Darden alumni to hold spring fling

The C.H. Darden Alumni Wilson chapter will host a spring fling gala from 9 p.m. Friday, April 19 to 1 a.m. Saturday, April 20 with food, music and cocktails at the Darden Alumni Center, 1600 Lipscomb Road. Guests are asked to wear evening attire.
