Simon Grove hosting fun day

Simon Grove Holy Church at 4334 N.C. 42 E. will have a fun day 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturday with games, dinner and more.

Kittens available for adoption today

Able Cat Rescue will hold a kitten adoption event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at PetSmart, 3401 Raleigh Road Parkway.

The Wilson-based rescue group facilitates the adoption and placement of rescued cats into permanent homes and is a volunteer-run organization funded by donations from the community.

Black history celebration planned

Manna Bible College is planning a community black history celebration at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Evening Light Holiness Church, 208 S. Pender St.
