Garden folklore talk set for Monday

The Wilson County Master Gardners present their monthly garden talk, “Garden Folklore” at 3 p.m. Monday, March 20 in the auditorium of the Wilson County Agricultural Center, 1806 S Goldsboro St. Kay Soto will be the speaker. A meeting of the Wilson County Master Gardeners will follow.

Head Start to enroll children March 22

Head Start recruitment for children ages 3-5 will be held 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 22 at the Wilson County Agricultural Center. The services are free.

Information needed includes the child’s birth certificate, income verification for the last 12 months, the child’s immunization records, current physical and dental exam reports, medical insurance card, marriage or divorce/separation documents and an IEP or CDSA evaluation.

Masons plan pancake, sausage supper

The Masonic Lodge at 2501 W Nash Road will have a pancake and sausage supper 5 -7 p.m. Friday, March 24. Diners can eat in or take out. The cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children 10 and under.

Proceeds will benefit local charities, the Masonic Home for Children at Oxford and the Order of the Eastern Star. The fundraiser is organized by Wilson Masonic Lodge No. 712.

Lions Club holding vision, hearing clinic

The Wilson Evening Lions Club will sponsor a vision and hearing screening clinic on its Brighter Vision Van from noon to 6 p.m. Friday, March 31 at Wal-Mart on Forest Hills Road.

The screening is free to the public and is offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Easter egg orders due by April 12

Westmoreland Pentecostal Holiness Church, 3102 Tilghman Road, is having its annual Easter egg sale. The eggs are chocolate-covered, peanut butter and coconut cream and can be personalized with a name or just “Happy Easter.” Each quarter-pound egg costs $4.
