Bridge club names recent winners

Wilson Duplicate Bridge Club winners for May 16, North/South, are Louise Watson and Lynda Land, first; Jeff Gates and Chip Smith, second; Mary Jane Jenkins and Penny Barnhill, third; and Judy and Sim Wooten, fourth. East/West winners are Nancy Marlowe and Dot Boyette, first; Charlotte Weathers and Richard Moore, second; and Betty Bikle and Frank Eagles, third.

Winners for May 18 are Judy and Sim Wooten, first; Nancy Thompson and Lynda Land, second; Ann Griffin and Betty Jon Smith, third; Martha Walston and Richard Moore, fourth; and Jeff Gates and George Watson, fifth.

Church selling fish plates for mission trip

Freedom Ministries will have a fish plate fundraiser beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 20 at 2305 Redwood Drive, Wilson.

Plates are $8 each and include fried fish, string beans, boiled potatoes, slaw, bread and dessert. All proceeds will go to support a summer mission trip. For more information, call Joyce at 252-315-3421.

Democratic precinct to meet May 23

The Wilson County Democratic Party’s Precinct Q will hold its monthly meeting 5:30 - 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 23 at the Wilson County Public Library. This meeting is for all registered Democrats who vote at American Legion Post 17, 700 New Bern St.

Speight alumni plan baby contest

The Speight High School alumni will have a scholarship fundraiser baby contest at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 17, at the Gee Corbett Senior Citizens Center, 1800 Butterfield Lane. For more information, call Otis Weaver at 252-289-0220.
