Back-to-school bash planned

The Original Rose of Sharon Church Ministries and Dior’s House of Weave of Wilson will host a back to school bash 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18 at Warren Street Park, 501 Bruton St. W., with free food, a health clinic, haircuts and styles for kids, music, school supplies and backpack giveaways. Homeschool sports tryouts scheduled

DASH, the Downeast Association of Sports for Homeschoolers, has scheduled tryouts for the upcoming basketball season at 11 a.m. Monday and Wednesday, Aug. 27 and 29 and Friday, Aug. 31 at The SPOT in Wilson.
