The Bereavement Support Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 8 at Wilson Medical Center in the Wells Fargo conference room.

Two groups holding grocery tours

Area residents interested in learning about nutritious shopping and cooking will have three opportunities to participate in supermarket tours at Food Lion, 2101 Tarboro St.

The Wilson County Diabetes Education and Support Group will host a grocery store tour 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday, March 12. Registration is required. Contact Martha Gurley at 252-399-8673 or martha.gurley@wilmed.org.

Wilson Medical Center dietitians will provide a grocery store tour for the community at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 13. To register, call 252-399-8478.

Spaghetti fundraiser slated

Wilson Medical Center will host a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for its 2018 Heart Walk campaign on Thursday, March 15 in the back of the café court. Tickets for spaghetti plates are $7 each. To place orders or request information, call Donna Beaman at 252-399-8906 or email donna.beaman@wilmed.org.

Breastfeeding class scheduled

A Preparation for Breastfeeding class will be held 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday, March 15 at the Wilson Medical Center Auditorium. To register, call 252-399-8887.

Blood drive planned March 16

Wilson Medical Center will hold a blood drive from noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 16. Call Sue Barnes at 252-399-8478 for an appointment. Donors can also register online at www.redcrossblood.org and print an American Red Cross RapidPass to save time at the registration table.

Doctor to discuss colorectal cancer

Dr. Mamun Shahrier will lead a program on prevention, diagnosis and early treatment of colon cancer at 6 p.m. Monday, March 19 at Pup’s Steakhouse, 2801 Ward Blvd., Suite 3D.

Colorectal cancer is the third-most common cancer in the United States for both men and women and March is designated as Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.

Hospital to host childbirth class
