Clinton, not Trump, colluded with Russians

In response to the letter “Russian interference makes Trump illegitimate,” I say let’s bring it on. And while Congress is examining the alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russians, they can examine collusion with the losing side and the Russians. The side where untoward and shady contact is not based on innuendo and whispering campaigns, but documented in financial disclosures and corroborated news reports.

Starting with Mrs. Clinton’s tenure at the State Department, it is clear she favored the Russians over other international players. How else to explain her approval of the deal that gave a Russian firm, Uranium One, control of 20 percent of the U.S. uranium reserves? The deal was approved in spite of the knowledge that the Russian government was a major partner in Uranium One. John Podesta, Mrs. Clinton’s campaign manager, was paid $40,000 by Uranium One to lobby for them with the U.S. government. The Clinton Foundation, President and Mrs. Clinton’s risibly designated “charitable arm” was the beneficiary of $2.35 million in Russian largesse. And President Clinton was paid $500,000 for a single speech by a Russian bank with Uranium One ties. All this is documented in the book “Clinton Cash” by Peter Schweizer.

As we know that President Obama desperately wanted a President Clinton in order to continue his policies; it is fair to look then at any ties or indications of empathy the ex-president had toward the Russians. Lest we forget, in 2012, then-President Obama on a hot mic told the Russian president, “This is my last election, after my election, I have more flexibility” in reference to American missile defense systems in Europe. Prior to that, in 2009, Obama had changed U.S. missile policies in Europe in a manner that favored Russia.

Methinks that the now minority party protesteth too much, but let them protest and investigate and then obfuscate when the worm turns and the Democrats become the target of congressional probes that have a much higher chance of finding collusion and inappropriate behavior vis a vis the Russians.
