Making Unique Flowers with Polymer Clay

From flower cups with exotic swirls, to blooms that are a botanist’s nightmare, students will learn a variety of techniques for creating and displaying them. Gather your friends and join popular local artist Kim Valentine as she teaches various wire wrapped jewelry-making techniques to create a variety of beautiful rings. All materials will be provided to create multiple rings to keep or give away as gifts. Appropriate for ages 13 and older and perfect for a mother-daughter art date. Woven Whimsical Wall Clocks

Students cut hardware cloth into a 12- to 18-inch shape, cap the ends with colored beads, treat their own or supplied patterned paper, then cut into strips and weave the strips. Students are encouraged to add ribbon or fabric, supplied baskets, miniatures and fun critters, leaving room for clock face with hanger (or just make it a wall hanging). Class fee: $80.
