Union View — Bailey

Union View Church will have Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. and will celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Rev. J.N. Perry at 11 a.m. Sunday with Douglas Bell from Parker’s Chapel Church of Goldsboro as the invited guest. A pastor’s aide service will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Union Grove — Fremont

Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church will render service at 11 a.m. Sunday at Reaching the World for Christ Church of Goldsboro with the Rev. James L. Lucas as speaker. The Rev. James L. Lucas along with Union Grove Church will render service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Parker’s Chapel, Goldsboro.

Restorative

Restorative Christian Ministries will have Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. and morning worship at 10:30 with the Rev. Rita Batts as speaker. Mid-week Bible study is at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Emanuel Chapel — Rocky Mount

Emanuel Chapel Original Free Will Baptist Church will have Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. and morning worship at 11. Mid-week Bible study is 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, and prayer is noon Friday.

Owens Chapel — Elm City

Owens Chapel Free Will Baptist, 6204 Webb Lake Road, will have Sunday school at 10 a.m. and will be celebrating its 100th church anniversary at 11 a.m. Sunday with the Rev. Rudy Owens as speaker. Lunch will be served.

Grace Baptist

Grace Baptist Church will have Sunday school at 10 a.m. and morning worship at 11. Mid-week Bible study is 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Life in the Word

Life in the Word Ministry will have Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. and morning worship at 10:45 with the Rev. George Atkinson as speaker. Mid-week Bible study is 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Mount Zion

Mount Zion Progressive Primitive Baptist Church will celebrate the 38th anniversary of the gospel choir at 4 p.m. Sunday.

Oak Grove — Elm City

The Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church, 5921 Bridgersville Road, will host the Oak Grove Boys and Stephanie’s 49th anniversary concert at 7 p.m. Saturday with special guest, Real Truth Revival. Admission is free; a love offering will be taken. Doors open at 6 p.m. Food and refreshments will be available.

Standing — Sims

Standing on His Word Ministry will celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Rev. Dwight Davis 11 a.m. Sunday with the Rev. Bryant McNeil as speaker.

Mary Grove

Mary Grove Missionary Baptist Church will have homecoming and a birthday rally at 10 a.m. Sunday. Lunch will be served.

Patterson Chapel

Patterson Chapel Holiness Church will have service at 11 a.m. Sunday with Beatrice Hopkins as speaker and music by the No. 2 choir.

Burning Bush

Burning Bush Free Will Baptist Church will have Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. and quarterly meeting and old fashioned day Sunday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Donnie Daniels as speaker followed by lunch. An afternoon service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Robert Smith along with Piney Groves Church rendering the service. Mid-week Bible study is at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Prayer and washing of feet will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Service is at 7:30 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Alex Speight as speaker. A prayer breakfast is planned for 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19.

Bethel AME — Stantonsburg

Bethel AME Church will have an appreciation service for the Rev. Lester Fisher at 10 a.m. Sunday with the Rev. John Sutton as speaker and music by Ronnie Rodger and Bethel’s Voices of Praise.

Piney Groves

Piney Groves Free Will Baptist Church will have Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. and morning worship with the Rev. Robert Smith as speaker and music by the ladies’ choir. Mid-week Bible study is 7 p.m. Wednesday, and prayer is noon Thursday.

Mount Zion

City of Refuge

The City of Refuge will have prayer at 9 a.m. Sunday, morning manna at 10 and morning worship at 11 with Ricky Locus as speaker. Mid-week Bible study is 7 p.m. Wednesday with Sarah Farmer as speaker.

St. Paul — Black Creek

St. Paul Church of Christ will celebrate the anniversary of the senior choir at 3 p.m. Sunday.

St. John — Black Creek

St. John Holiness Church will celebrate the anniversary of the Rev. Ellen Battle at 11 a.m. Sunday with the Rev. Ozzie Edwards of St. Paul Church of Black Creek as guest speaker and music by Willing Worker Holiness Church Choir of Lucama.

Mitchell — Bailey

Mitchell Chapel Holiness Church will have an appreciation service for Doralyn Jacobs at 7:30 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Nichole Bass of Word of Truth Church as guest speaker.

St. Paul

St. Paul Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ will have Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. and morning worship at 11 with the Rev. Chester L. Aycock as speaker and music by the mass choir. Mid-week Bible study is noon Tuesday and 7 p.m. Thursday. The women’s fellowship will recognize breast cancer awareness at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, with Portia Jenkins and the Rev. Sylvia Strickland as speakers. A light lunch will be provided; those attending are asked to wear pink.

Faith and Praise

Faith and Praise Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, 411 Nash St. W., will celebrate the anniversary of the Rev. Anthony Atkinson at 9:30 a.m. Sunday with Nancy Reid as guest speaker.

Johnson Chapel — Elm City

Johnson Chapel Church will have family and friends day at 11 a.m. Sunday with the Rev. Roderick Tillery Sr. as speaker.
