Carlton “Duke” Dixon, 87, of Wilson, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017.
Funeral, Friday, 7 p.m., Wilson Memorial Service, followed by visitation.
Duke was a retired farmer and businessman. He loved humor, friends, family, hunting, fishing and he never met a stranger.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jean Troutman Dixon; son, David Dixon, and wife, Cathy, of Wilson; daughter-in-law, Becky Dixon of Monroe; granddaughters, Angie Dixon of Wilson, Ashley Burgess, and husband, Brandon, of Marshville and Meredith Minor, and husband, Brian, of Monroe; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Jean Langley of Wilson.
Duke was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Dixon; parents, H.T. and Victoria Page Dixon; sisters, Inez and Lucille Dixon; and brothers, Edward “Knot,” William Henry “Trot,” J.D., James “Scoot” and Thomas Dixon.
