Watching the Democratic debates, I noticed a fallacy/irony that screams off the screen at each event and from each person on stage, yet is never addressed, by anyone.
The candidates repeatedly, and proudly, boast how they overcame hurdles and obstacles of their youth — single mothers, immigration status, being a woman, a minority, not having wealth — and yet all are standing on a stage running for president.
What other nation on the face of the Earth or in all of history afforded people this opportunity?
Gosh, apparently America, as-is, has worked for them. You can overcome adversity and not only succeed, but qualify to lead the nation. That sounds pretty darn fair, evolved, open and inviting for such an evil system.
If you have actually lived and experienced this, why in the world do you want to dismantle and change it?
A logical, honest, objective, aware person would give that system a standing ovation, not slander it.
Maybe even suggest the rest of the world emulate that exact, precise ethos and make that agenda your political goal.
What am I missing?
