Sarah Bunn of Hunt High shot a 9-hole 48, allowing her to deadlock Northern Nash’s Brooke Taylor for medalist honors at Wednesday’s nonconference match at Happy Valley Country Club.

While the league’s members took part in the match, it will not factor into the team standings or the race for the individual medalist.

Bunn’s round helped Hunt edge Fike by five shots, 163-168 on the par-36, 2,361-yard layout. Southern Nash was third at 172 while Northern Nash followed with a 180. Rocky Mount lacked the three minimum golfers to qualify for a team score, while Franklinton does not field a team.

Bunn was followed on the Lady Warriors’ scorecard by the 55 of Gracie Taylor and the 60 of Connor Worley. Liza Horne’s card of 50 led the way for Fike. Madeline Harrell added a 53 and Alana Robbins tallied a 65.

For Southern Nash, Elisabeth Collie had a 53 to lead the Ladybirds contingent. Rayna Bailey shot a 58, while Sara Small and Taylor Hall each had rounds of 61.

Hunt will face off with Beddingfield on Thursday at Willow Springs, while the fourth Big East match will be held on the course Monday afternoon.
