Forest Hills topped visiting Rocky Mount Parker 52-45 on Monday to advance to the Tricounties Athletic Conference boys basketball championship game.

The Bucks, South Division champions, will take an 13-0 record into Thursday’s final against North Division king Red Oak (13-0), which dispatched Darden in Monday’s other semifinals game.

TyChaun Clay had 21 points to lead the Bucks while Davon Jones netted 15 points and Jalen Williams added seven points.

Parker, the North Division runner-up, finished 10-3.

Lady Bucks stunned by Parker 47-41 in girls TAC semis

An unbeaten season for the Forest Hills girls basketball team was halted by visiting Rocky Mount Parker 47-41 in the semifinals of the Tricounties Athletic Association playoffs Monday.

The South Division-champion Lady Bucks, who suffered their first loss in 13 games, were led by Kaitlyn Adams with 23 points while D’Miyah McGuire added eight points.

Parker, the No. 2 team from the North Division, improved to 10-3 and will play at Nash Central, which defeated Speight in the other semifinal Monday, in Thursday’s championship game.

Lady Cougars ousted by Nash Central 43-23

ROCKY MOUNT — One of the best girls basketball seasons in recent memory ended for Speight on Monday as the Lady Cougars lost 43-23 at Nash Central in the semifinals of the Tricounties Athletic Conference tournament.

Daneesha Briggs led the Lady Cougars with 12 points and eight rebounds.

Speight, which was the No. 2 seed from the South Conference, finished 10-3. Nash Central, the North Division’s top seed, advances to the championship game against Rocky Mount Parker with an 11-2 record.
