Recovering from a sluggish start, the Beddingfield High varsity volleyball team ended its regular season with a 25-14, 16-25, 27-25, 25-20 Senior Night victory against a SouthWest Edgecombe squad that was also concluding its regular season.
The Lady Bruins of head coach Kelly Vinson earned a berth against SouthWest in the opening round of the 2-A Eastern Plains Conference tournament at Farmville Central on Monday.
Junior Kaitlin Abrams keyed the Beddingfield defense with eight digs. Senior Te’Kayah Smith prowled for 21 kills and 6-foot-2 sophomore Makayla Everette pounded 16 kills.
“After a very sluggish start, we were finally able to put it together for a win on Senior Night,” Vinson said.
