HIGH POINT — After averaging just 44.5 points in its last two games, both losses, the Barton College women’s basketball team managed to stay with NCAA Division I High Point in an 82-69 loss for the Lady Bulldogs on Tuesday.

Barton of the Div. II Conference Carolinas dropped to 2-3 with its third straight loss while the Big South Conference Panthers evened their record at 2-2.

The Lady Bulldogs, who shot 22.7 percent from the floor in losses to Georgia College and North Georgia in the North Georgia Classic over the weekend, made 24 of 55 (43.6 percent) of their attempts Tuesday. However, Barton was undone by its performance from the free-throw line where the Lady Bulldogs converted just 11 of 31 opportunities for 35.5 percent.

Redshirt senior Alex Kimble had 14 points and senior Tatyana Jackson had 13 points and six assists for Barton. Kat Harris drained six 3-pointers on her way to a game-high 25 points for High Point while Lindsay Edwards added 20 points.

The Panthers finished at 50 percent (31 of 62) from the floor on the game.

Barton returns from Thanksgiving break for its Conference Carolinas opener Wednesday, Nov. 29, the first of four straight home games in Wilson Gym.
