Mark your calendars, warm up your “pipes” and make plans to attend the Arts Council of Wilson’s 2019 Battle Karaoke fundraiser on Friday, June 21.

This event is sponsored by Farris & Farris, Brewmasters and Tig’s Courtyard and hosted by DJ Shannon McKinnon of ShanSound Entertainment. Event tickets are $10, and there is no extra charge to become a contestant. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the singing starts at 7 p.m. Arrive early to pick out your song.

This is a family-friendly event, and the competition is on, said council executive director Cathy Hardison. Young and old will face off and give it their all in this fun karaoke event, with prizes and bragging rights at stake.

Brewmasters will be taking “liquid courage” (for you shy adults), and Tig’s catering will be on hand to feed the hungry crowd. There will also be non-alcoholic beverages and snacks available.

“You won’t want to miss this — even if you don’t want to sing,” Hardison said. “The show is worth the price of admission.” There will also be 50/50 raffle tickets on sale.

If you’d like to prepare ahead of time, e-mail your song choice to DJ Shannon McKinnon at battlekaraoke2018@gmail.com. He has a library of more than 40,000 tunes, so you’re sure to find something that fits your style.

Tickets will be available at the door the night of the event. For more information, contact the Arts Council at 252-291-4329.
