TIGERVILLE, S.C. — Sophomore Rebecca Fraser remains the only all-conference performer in the two-year history of the Barton College women’s lacrosse program.
Fraser repeated from 2017 in being named to the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas second team during the league’s ceremony Friday at the site of this year’s tournament championship.
The Lady Bulldogs defender led the league in groundballs (84) for the second year in a row. Her total was 25 more than any other player in the league. Fraser collected six or more groundballs nine times in 15 matches, thrice posting a high of nine — including Barton’s tournament quarterfinals match at the University of Mount Olive last Wednesday.
Fraser, who hails from Chesapeake, Virginia, ranked second in the conference in caused turnovers (38) and fifth in draw controls (84). Offensively, Fraser contributed 10 assists in helping the Lady Bulldogs qualify for the conference tournament for the first time. Barton finished eighth out of 11 teams.
Limestone, ranked No. 9 nationally among Div. II teams, won the regular-season title.
