SAINT AUGUSTINE, Fla. — The Barton College men’s golf team slid back into a sixth-place finish after the conclusion of play Tuesday at the Jay Jennison Cup, hosted by Flagler College at World Golf Village’s Slammer & Squire Course.
Barton carded an 8-over 872 to finish near the middle of the 15-team field, while No. 3-ranked Barry University won the event by 32 strokes with a team score of 830.
The Bulldogs were led by sophomore Bryson Boyette, who finished fifth overall with a 4-under 212. Junior Dominic O’Brien finished tied for 17th with a 2-over 219. Justin Plane (3-over, 219), Scott Pechacek (8-over 224) and Justin Poole (10-over, 226) rounded out Barton’s golfers.
Barton returns to action Monday at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate at Ocean Ridge’s Lion Paw Course in Ocean Isle Beach.
