Barton beats Queens, picks up 5th straight win

CHARLOTTE — Barton College racked up its fifth straight men’s volleyball victory Friday with a four-set nonconference win at Queens University.

The NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas Bulldogs improved to 9-2 with the 25-22, 17-25, 25-10, 25-14 win, the second of the season against the Div. II South Atlantic Conference Royals (5-8).

Sophomore outside hitter Adrian Iglesias led Barton at the net with 16 kills while hitting at a sizzling .600 clip. Senior right side hitter Angelos Mandilaris added 13 kills.

Barton held Queens to just .150 hitting while knocking down 10 service aces.

The Bulldogs return to conference play Saturday at Belmont Abbey College.
